The Hillsborough Jr. Raiders is an independent recreational youth organization serving the community of Hillsborough, NJ, since 1992. The Jr. Raiders offers organized youth activities in flag and tackle football, cheerleading, girls lacrosse and track & field for youth in grades Kindergarten through 8th. We are committed to teaching the children the skills they need to have fun playing in a safe environment. Our players learn and apply the principals of sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline and dedication. The Jr. Raiders offers opportunities for boys and girls of all skill levels. Our philosophy is that all children need to get into the game. Everyone plays. You don’t learn, improve or have fun by sitting on the bench. We emphasize the fundamentals and progression of skill development, which will prepare them to participate at the High School level. The Jr. Raiders are a feeder organization to Hillsborough High School Football Program. Our football program has both an in-town program and travel program. Our Cheerleaders have squads that provide spirit for our football teams and competition squads for kids who want to take cheer to the next level. The track & field program is an in-town program that focuses on teaching our youth both the field skills and the techniques for running sprints, relays and distance. The Hillsborough Jr. Raiders is a member of the Jr. Skyland Conference. Each year we have two teams that compete in this conference. A Varsity team made up of our more experienced 7th and 8th graders and JV team made of our more experienced 5th and 6th graders. The Jr. Skyland Conference was formed in 2004. The Jr. Raiders are proud to be one of the 5 founding organization of the Jr. Skyland Conference.

The Hillsborough Jr. Raiders is sustained by the efforts of its volunteers. It is dedication and hard work of our many volunteers that makes the Jr. Raiders the exceptional organization that it is today. We are always looking for new volunteers to help with coaching, being a team parent or as trainer. Our coaches have all taken the Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Program. Beginning with the 2010 season, our in-town tackle program will be employing certified officials to further insure the safety of our players. Flag and tackle football and cheerleading are offered in the fall with practice beginning in August. Track and field is offered in the spring during the months of March until  June.
