Club Comics Highlight Temple Beth El's Comedy Night

Special wine and cheese tasting kicks off Saturday event.

Saturday night at Temple Beth El may never be as funny again: the temple is hosting a comedy show Saturday, featuring three comics—including Jessica Kirson, who some wanted to replace Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" when he retires.

The event will also include wine and cheese tasting before the laughs, with the tasting beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

The comedy will begin at 8 p.m., hosted by Mark New, a frequent performer at the Gotham Comedy Club, Comedy Shoppe, Stand-Up NY and Stress Factory.

Joining New will be Danny Cohen, who has appeared on Comedy Central, and received the  MAC Award “Outstanding Comic in NYC.”

Kirson has become one of the most popular "Tonight Show" guests, and is regularly featured on "Comedy Central." She launched a tongue-in-cheek Facebook page "Tell NBC Execs Jessica Kirson should be the new host of "The Tonight Show" in 2012 after Jay Leno announced his plans to retire, collecting eight likes.

Tickets for the show are $55 at the door for the wine and cheese tasting and comedy show, or $40 for the comedy show only. Checks should be made payable to Temple Beth-El.
