Operation Shoebox Seeks Rotary Fair Helpers

Amusements, information table depend on help from volunteers—can you help?

When the Hillsborough Rotary Fair opens Tuesday, much of the fun will be delivered by volunteers with Operation Shoebox who staff some of the games and amusements.

Operation Shoebox volunteers helped at last year's fair, and director Rod Hirsch said it was beneficial to Operation Shoebox as well.

"We all had fun last year, and the Rotary stepped up and made a $1,000 donation to OPSHBX NJ to thank us for our participation," he said.

The group is committed to helping again this year—but more volunteers are needed. Hirsch said a number of volunteers are needed to help staff the Operation Shoebox NJ display which will be at the TD Bank tent, where they will sell candy and talk to potential depositors about the affinity bank program TD Bank offers benefiting Operation Shoebox.

The groups is seeking volunteers to help on Saturday and Sunday—if you can volunteer, contact Hirsch at opshbxnj@yahoo.com.
