Runners Readying for Annual Jason's Run
It's not too late to sign up for fundraising event held in memory of HHS star runner Jason Walton.
The first Jason's Run following the 2008 death of Hillsborough High School student Jason Walton drew several hundred of his fellow track athletes, looking to bid farewell to their friend and inspiring competitor.
Since the event has grown into a fundraiser for the Jason Walton Memorial Scholarship Fund, with more than 300 people heading to the track at Hillsborough High School for the 5K run.
This year's USATF Certified and Sanctioned event, set for 9 a.m. Aug. 4, is likely to draw at leasts as many—and perhaps more.
Registrations are still being accepted for the run, which will include prizes for first, second and third Overall Male/Female; first, second and third Overall Male/Female in five-year age groups— 10 and Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20 to 80+.
