While the National Hockey League cancels games because of deadlocked labor contract talks, local fans of the sport are considering other options—such as Hillsborough High School varsity hockey.
The team's season begins at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Woodbridge Community Center, with the team taking on Edison in the season opener.
"Another friend who is also a big hockey fan mentioned to me he is going to watch high school and college hockey and to hell with the NHL guys this year!" one varsity parent said.
