A group of Advanced Placement government and politics students will be moderating the discussion when they host Candidates’ Night for those running for the Board of Education.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held on April 16 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

All five candidates–Dana C. Boguszewski, Deena Centofanti, Aldo J. Martinez, Lorraine A. Soisson and Allen Zdroik–have accepted the invitation to participate.

Students will moderate all aspects of the event, providing them with an engaging experience that supports classroom lessons. At the conclusion of the forum, the audience will be invited to meet with the candidates for light refreshments provided by the Hillsborough Education Association.

The forum will be available for viewing on the Hillsborough Township Public Schools’ YouTube channel the following morning. The Board of Education voted unanimously at its Sept. 26 meeting to support the concept. A similar event was held for Township Committee candidates on Oct. 18.
