Hurricane Sandy Closes Hillsborough Schools

District has already announced storm will shut down classes and activities on Monday and Tuesday.

Hurricane Sandy, expected to make landfall Monday evening, has already closed the Hillsborough Township Public Schools.

An alert on the district's website said schools will be closed both Monday and Tuesday in anticipation of the expected extreme weather conditions.

Along with classes, all activities have also been canceled, the alert said.

The township has also made an announcement regarding shelter in anticipation of the storm. An emergency shelter at the Municipal Complex will be available for those residents impacted by flooding with no other place to go, the township said. The shelter will be opened at approximately 1 p.m. on Monday.

The township also announced Hillsborough/Montgomery Municipal Court sessions scheduled for Monday and Tuesday are also cancelled.
