Hillsborough Teacher Will Premiere Autism Documentary On April 19

A Triangle Elementary School teacher participates in National Autism Awareness Month.

A teacher from Hillsborough will show her documentary next week about autism as part of National Autism Awareness Month.

Tori Wargo, a Special Education teacher at , will have a premiere of her documentary "Touched by Autism" at Tusk Restaurant on Thursday, April 19 at 7 p.m.

Red carpet arrivals will begin at 6:30 p.m. After the screening, there will be a complimentary reception with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.

Wargo participates every April in National Autism Awareness Month, and this year she went extra lengths to put together an inspirational documentary.

"Touched by Autism" shows how the community embraces autism through the eyes of family, friends, and educators. The whole film was completed in Hillsborough.

Tom Sireci, Hillborough High Schol senior, assisted with the filming and editing. All of the people who appear in the documentary, such as parents, teachers, and autism specialists, have a connection to the town.

Wargo also worked with local musician Joe Cassidy to create an orginal song for the film. Cassidy wil perform live at the premiere on Thursday. 

The premiere for "Touched by Autism" is being sponsored by Tusk Restaurant and The Velvet Rope Events.  A portion of the event's profit will go to Hillsborough families with children with Autism.
