Amsterdam's 'Reading Fair' Takes a Page From Science Fairs
Students share their favorite books at school's fair.
It was hard to tell what excited Amsterdam School students at Tuesday's REading Fair more: sharing their favorite books with others or finding out about new books to enjoy.
The event drew hundreds to the school's multipurpose room, where students prepared descriptive summaries of their favorite books to present—just as they would for a science fair.
And when not sharing the story of their favorite story with other students, most were anxious to check out the other displays—which used everything from sketches and diagrams to sculptured creations and toys.
