New Vehicles Coming for Police, DPW, Construction

Township Committee approves purchases at final meeting of the year.

The Township Committee played Santa Claus for some township departments, approving three resolutions accepting purchase contracts for township vehicles at its Tuesday meeting, the final one for the year.

The vehicles replace older vehicles in use, and in the case of three police vehicle scheduled to be replaced this year, the vehicles are re-assigned to use as unmarked vehicles for police.

The resolutions include a $113,281.25 contract with Warnock Fleet Sales and Leasing for two Ford Police Interceptors, at $73,842.50, and one Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicle, at $39,438.75.

The Department of Public Work will receive a new tandem hook lift truck from Cambria Auto, which submitted the low bid. The cost of the vehicle will not exceed $281,974.

The construction department will receive a 2013 Jeep Patriot at a cost of $18,140.
