Public Hearings, New Ordinances on Committee Agenda

Ordinances handle capital improvements, buffers and conservation easements.

The Township Committee will have hearings on two ordinances, while also introducing one new ordinances during its meeting Tuesday.

The first ordinance that will have a public hearing, 2011-14, modifies portions of the township’s code involving buffers and conservation easements. During the ordinance introduction, Township Planner Robert Ringelheim noted the Township’s Planning Board had discussed the current requirements several times during its meetings.

The second ordinance that will have a public hearing, 2011-15, accepts the drainage and conservation, sight conservation, pedestrian and bikeway path, underground water storage tank and access meant for fire protection, storm and sewer easements and a deed of dedication for open space for portions of land near Boozer Lane, Clawson Avenue and other areas in the Flagtown section of town.

The new ordinance, 2011-17, allows the township to purchase $646,300 in capital improvements.

The township’s consent agenda includes a resolution allowing it to amend its meeting schedule for 2011, allows the Township Administrator to submit a Sustainable New Jersey grant, and also allows the township to advertise for bids for road overlay repairs and sidewalk replacements.

There are no proclamations or new business listed on the agenda.

The Township Committee meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Municipal Courtroom.
