Proposed Ordinances Repeal Sections of Town Code

Ordinances repeal two sections of the Township Code, and would undergo a March vote.

Ordinances changing the township code will be introduced at Tuesday night’s Township Committee meeting.

The changes include repealing portions of the code involving the township’s Cable Advisory Committee and Senior Citizen Housing Council. In addition, a third ordinance would amend requirements to serve on the township’s Sign Review Committee, by eliminating a requirement that one member of the committee also serves on the Architectural and Site Design Advisory Subcommittee. All three ordinances will undergo public hearing and vote on March 13.

In addition to the changes to the township code, one other ordinance is up for introduction at the meeting. The first ordinance accepts conservation, drainage, sight triangle easements and deeds of emergency access easements near Dukes Parkway East, Dickerson Road and Campbell Road. The first ordinance of 2012, 2012-01, will undergo a public hearing and vote during the meeting. The ordinance accepts conservation, storm sewer, sight triangle easements and deeds of dedication for road widening purposes near South Woods Road and Township Line Road.

The meeting’s considerations agenda includes a resolution increasing the 2012 temporary emergency budget, and a resolution appointing Robert McCray to a five-year term on the Municipal Utilities Authority and John Richardson, Municipal Court Judge, to a three-year term.

The consent agenda includes a resolution authorizing a $2,269.93 refund for tax overpayment for a single property, and a request for an application fee waiver for for the installation of a new firehouse sign.

The Township Committee will also accept portraits of committee members from Kevin Murphy, owner of Hillsborough’s . The award-winning portrait painter created the first installment in the township’s public art collection—a portrait of late Assemblyman Peter Biondi—and mentored the high school students who created the collection’s next two pieces.
