One Ordinance, No Public Hearings at Township Committee Meeting

Light agenda at first official meeting of 2012.

The Township Committee’s first meeting since its reorganization has one new ordinances up for introduction, and no public hearings scheduled.

The ordinance, 2012-01, authorizes the acceptance of conservation, storm sewer, sight triangle and deeds of dedication for road widening purposed in Block 207.01, for portions of seven lots and for a portions of one lot in block 207.9.

The meeting’s Considerations agenda includes an item reauthorizing the township and county’s recycling pickup agreement. Under the agreement, the county will pick up recycling for the 2012 calendar year at a rate of $23.85 per household. According to the agenda, the rate has not increased in 11 years.

A second item on the Considerations Agenda allows the township’s engineering inspection services, Maser Consulting, P.A., to conduct landfill gas investigations at the Sunnymead Municipal Landfill. The inspections are pursuant to New Jersey State law and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection requirements.

A third resolution on the Considerations agenda authorizes the township’s Tax Assessor and Township Attorney to respond to tax appeals.

A fourth resolution authorizes a contract with Community Grants, Planning and Housing to provide affordable housing administrative services. The contract amount is not to exceed $6,900.

A fifth resolution appoints Sean Carolan, Nick Speciale and Steven Eckert to one-year terms as Emergency Management deputy coordinators. They will serve in the posts from Jan. 1, 2012 until Dec. 31, 2012.

A sixth resolution establishes the annual salaries and wages for municipal employees.

The meeting opens with a proclamation for high school junior Matthew Comito, for receiving the rank of Cadet Commander with the Civil Air Patrol.
