Obama State Director to Visit Hillsborough Democrats

Address aims to align local and regional efforts with national campaign.

The next meeting of the Hillsborough Democratic Alliance on Feb. 1 will feature a short address from Jackie Cornell-Bechelli, recently named New Jersey State Director of President Obama's re-election campaign.

Cornell-Bechelli was with NJ Citizen Action from December 2010 until her new assignment. Prior to that, she was NJ State Director for Organizing for America, a project of the Democratic National Committee and the successor to Obama for America. Cornell-Bechelli’s roots are in reproductive health and justice, and she was awarded for her efforts on federal health insurance reform in 2009.

While her address will be brief, this is an excellent opportunity to start to align the local and regional aspects of the campaign with the national campaign to insure Democrats who come to the polls in Hillsborough in November vote all the way up and down the ticket.  It’s also a great opportunity for area Democrats to find out how the Obama campaign is addressing New Jersey, and how you can get in on the ground floor of this campaign.
