Nuara, Catrombon Get Nods for Board of Fire Commissioners

Also, voters overwhelmingly support budget question.

Charlie Nuara and John Catrombon Jr. won election to the Hillsborough Board of Fire Commissioners in Saturday's fire district election.

The election also included the $1,706,673 fire district budget for 2013, whch was approved by a vote of 294 in favor, vs. 49 votes against the budget. Passage of the budget will raise the tax levy for fire services to about 3.1 cents per $100 of assessed value for property owners, or about $114 annually for the average property owner.

Matt DeCicco failed in his bid for re-election to the board. He was first elected in 2004.
