Following the breakfast, the veterans will lead the parade, which begins at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Auten and Triangle roads. The parade will be followed by a ceremony at about 11:15 p.m. at the Garden of Honor at the municipal complex.

All Hillsborough veterans, whether they served in war or peacetime, are invited to attend the breakfast. Spouses and widows of veterans are also invited to the breakfast and participate in the parade.

"Our veterans play such a significant role in the day’s program and it is only appropriate that they lead us in remembrance and in honoring those who gave of themselves so selflessly in service of our nation’s freedom and liberty,” said Committeeman Bob Wagner, the township’s veterans liaison.

Registration forms are available at the Township Administrator’s Office; online registration is available on the township’s website.

The breakfast will be held rain or shine. Rain date for the parade and the Garden of Honor Ceremony is May 27.

Suraci said invitations have been sent to all township veterans. Suraci also asked that any family members of servicemen who are currently deployed or family members of veterans who have died in the past year contact the township administrator so those individuals can be honored as well.
