Mayor, Deputy Mayor to be Appointed at Reorg Meeting

Professional service contracts, committee assignments and board and commission contracts also on agenda.

The Township Committee will decide who will serve as mayor and deputy mayor during its annual reorganization meeting Tuesday night.

Comments by both the mayor and deputy mayor will follow their oaths of office, administrated by District 16 State Sen. Christopher “Kip” Bateman (R-Somerville).

In addition, Bateman will give the oath of office to Gloria McCauley and Douglas Tomson, who won their election bid in November. It will be McCauley’s second three-year committee term. Tomson, who takes his first three-year term, will fill the seat formerly occupied by Committeeman Anthony Ferrera.

Appointments to township posts include the township’s certifying agent, certifying official, treasurer, dog tabulator, dog warden services, fund commissioners to the Central Jersey Joint Insurance Fund, Municipal Improvement Search Official, Municipal Improvement Tax Search Official, Paymaster and Social Security Administrator, Public Agency Compliance Officer, Police Department Chaplains, Police Department Matrons, school crossing guards and special officers.

Other appointments include municipal court officials and professional service providers and provider contracts for 2012.

Mayoral appointments include appointments to the town’s Planning Board, Historic Preservation Commission, the Recreation and Parks Commission and the Sustainable Hillsborough Steering Committee. Mayoral appointments that require the Township Committee’s consent include seats on the Agricultural Advisory Committee, the Board of Health, the Hillsborough-Millstone Municipal Alliance and the Youth Services Commission.

Township Committee appointments will include seats on the Credit Card Advisory Committee, Board of Adjustment, Planning Board, Cultural and Arts Commission, Local Assistance Board, Wildlife Management Commission, Willow Road Complex Review Commission, GSA Depot Joint Administrative Committee, GSA Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, the Open Space Advisory Committee and the Hillsborough Municipal Utilities Authority.

The Township Committee will also appoint its committee and liaison assignments for the year, and establish a temporary budget.
