Fireworks Show a Go for Labor Day Weekend

Twice-postponed show will be held at Auten Road School on Sept. 5

The township will celebrate Labor Day with a fireworks display.

Mayor Gloria McCauley announced at Tuesday’s Township Committee meeting that the , , will now be held on Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 5) at Auten Road School.

”Let’s hope for better weather,’’ she said.

Shuttle buses will run from the high school and middle school to Auten Road School for the fireworks, sponsored by Provident and Assemblyman Pete Biondi.

The show returns after a year hiatus brought on by budget cuts. Since it is privately funded, the township lost no money from the two rained out shows.

The township committee also approved Tuesday a home run derby fundraiser by the Hillsborough Baseball League and the Diamond Club on Aug. 20 at the Willow Road Baseball Complex, Rain date is Aug. 21.
