Credit Card Program Grants Top $8,700 for Youth, Senior Groups [Videos]

From Cub Scouts to Senior Citizens Club B, grants provide help for local groups.

Each year, the Hillsborough Credit Card Advisory Committee doles out grants to local nonprofits, giving out the proceeds the township received though the Affinity credit card program.

Now in its 12th year, the program raises money though residents' use of a Hillsborough VISA credit card, issued by Affinity Federal Credit Union. The township receives a percentage of the total of charges made on the cards each year, then distributes the money through the grants.

Advisory Committee Chairwoman Antoinette Natale presented this year's grant recipients at Monday's Township Committee meeting, with the groups expressing their appreciation for the funds totaling $8,729.20.
