Cops: Manville Man Claimed Lost Items Were Stolen

The following arrest record was provided by the Hillsborough Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Manville man was charged with filing a false police report, claiming that personal items were stolen, Hillsborough Police said.

According to Hillsborough Police, John Wood, 52, of Manville, arrived to police headquarters on Jan. 16, claiming that personal property was stolen from a vehicle he parked on Hamilton Road.

Wood eventually admitted to concocting the story and had lost the property he was reporting stolen, police said. He was released after processing.

James Hishmeh, 49, of Hillsborough was charged with driving while intoxicated after allegedly being involved in a two-car crash on New Center Road on Feb. 1. Hishmeh allegedly obtained breath test results of .20 percent blood alcohol and was released after also being charged with failure to keep right.

Timothy Young, 66, of Princeton Junction was charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly observed on a Route 206 business' security film defecating in a parking lot on Jan. 31. Young was released after processing.

An Auten Road property owner reported that tools and electronics werestolen from a vacant rental property sometime during the overnight hours on Jan. 25. The value of the stolen property is reported to be $70. The Hillsborough Police Detective Bureau is continuing the investigation.
