Police Investigate Jewelry, Electronics Thefts

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hillsborough Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Hillsborough Police are investigating burglaries at two Hillsborough residences in which the items stolen totaled more that $1,000.

A Steinmetz Road resident reported that a home was burglarized during the afternoon and evening hours of Sept. 25. $1,560 worth of jewelry was reported missing from the home. The Hillsborough Police detective bureau is continuing the investigation.

A Johanson Avenue resident reported that a home was burglarized during the late afternoon/evening hours of Sept. 12. $2,325 worth of unspecified electronics where stolen from the home. The Hillsborough Police detective bureau is continuing the investigation.

Police did not release further information about the thefts.

Amarilz Rios, 29, of Bound Brook, was charged with hindering apprehension when she allegedly provided an officer with false information regarding her identity during a Sept. 24 traffic stop. She was also charged with speeding, driving with a suspended license and failing to produce a license. She was released after posting bail on an outstanding warrant, Hillsborough Police said.

A South Branch Road convenience store manager reported that three teenagers allegedly shoplifted an alcoholic beverage worth $3 on Sept. 3. The teenagers allegedly fled the store when confronted, according to police.

A dental office on South Branch Road reported that a female received dental procedures at the office and allegedly left without paying her bill on Sept. 23. The Hillsborough Police detective bureau is following up on the investigation.

Aaron Blanding, 20, of Hillsborough, was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana during a traffic stop on Capricorn Drive on Sept. 21. Blanding was released after also being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, underage possession of alcohol, driving while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance and failing to maintain lamps, police said.

Andrew Applegate and Adam Hepburn, both 18 and of Ringoes, were charged with criminal mischief after an officer discovered them allegedly spray painting equipment at Ann Van Middlesworth Park on Sept. 20. Both were summonsed at the scene and released.

Saritza Rodriguez, 21, of Franklin, was charged with hindering her own apprehension after allegedly providing an officer with a false name during a Sept. 20 traffic stop on Andria Avenue. According to police, Rodriguez allegedly provided the false name to avoid a summons for driving with a suspended license. She was summonsed and released, police said.

Nicholas Gilmore, 20, of Hillsborough, was charged with underage possession of alcohol during a traffic stop on Raider Boulevard on Sept. 19. Gilmore was summonsed at the scene and released.

Philip Geiger, 28, of Hillsborough, was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana on Sept. 13, after officers encountered him during a separate investigation. Police did not reveal the details of the other investigation. Geiger was released after processing.

Tyree Dicks, 20, of Plainfield, was charged with driving while intoxicated while allegedly driving a green Pontiac on Amwell Road on Sept. 10. Dicks was released after also being charged with failing to maintain a lane, refusing to submit to breath testing and driving while intoxicated in a school zone.

Jaclyn Thompson, 19, of Hillsborough was charged for allegedly driving while intoxicated while driving a green Chrysler on Hamilton Road on Sept. 30. Thompson obtained breath test results of .12 percent blood alcohol and was released after also being charged with careless driving.

Elizabeth Kazary, 65, of Neshanic Station, was charged with driving while intoxicated after the blue Honda she was allegedly driving was involved in a crash on Beekman Lane on Aug. 26. Kazary was released after also being charged with reckless driving. The matter is pending a blood analysis, police said.

Timothy Cassidy, 26, of Arlington, Va., was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia during an Aug. 25 traffic stop on Route 206. Cassidy was released after also being charged with failure to keep right and driving while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, police said.

Ryan Pottle, 25, of Rocky Hill Conn., was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia during an Aug. 25 traffic stop on Route 206. He was released after procession, police said.
