Old Camplain Road Warehouse Fire Considered Suspicious

This is the second time a blaze has broken out at the location in the past year.

A warehouse fire that broke out late Sunday night on Old Camplain Road is under investigation, but is being considered suspicious, Chief Fire Marshal Chris Weniger said.

The warehouse, which is located next to a residence on the street, began around 11 p.m., and took about 20 minutes to extinguish, Weniger said.  The investigation—and ensuring the blaze was completely out—took about two hours, with fire crews packing up around 1 a.m.

The building was vacant at the time of the blaze, leading firefighters to believe the fire was set.

"We have an abandoned building that has no electricity, no heat and signs of a fire set in two places." Weniger said.

"This is not the first fire here, either," said Weniger, who approximated the last fire at the location occurred around August.
