Man Dead, Woman Critical in Franklin Apartment Shooting

A 50-year-old man was found dead and 35-year-old woman was discovered with a wound to the head at the Hempstead Gardens apartments in Franklin Tuesday morning after police received a call reporting gunshots at the location, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said.

Franklin police received a call at 11:38 a.m. Tuesday reporting gunshots fired at the apartment complex in the Somerset section of town, the prosecutor's office said.

The prosecutor's office said authorities found the two, who were living together, upon arrival. The woman was taken to the hospital and was in critical condition, the prosecutor's office said.

The incident is currently under investigation.
