Hillsborough Woman Loses License for 10 Years

A Hillsborough woman's appeal of her third DWI conviction in 10 years was denied by the State Superior Court.

The court upheld the sentencing of Cynthia Sorrentino to 180 days in the Somerset County Jail with no driving privileges for 10 years.

The third of Sorrentino's arrests came on Jan. 9, 2007, when, according to state court documents, the  dispatch received a 911 call from a citizen reporting an erratic driver on Duke's Parkway in Bridgewater. The person provided a specific plate and a specific vehicle when placing the call.

The officer responding to the call could not find the vehicle, but ran the plate and and proceeded to the owner's residence on Roycefield Road. 

The document states the officer found Sorrentino in the driveway behind the wheel of a pickup truck with its motor running. She failed a field sobriety test and a urine sample was taken.

A state police laboratory toxicologist performed a chemical analysis of her urine sample and concluded the sample contained oxycodone, butalbital and carisoprodol, a muscle relaxer.
