Hillsborough Man Crashes Into Cement Slab, Fence

53-year-old taken to hospital after accident in Red Bank Saturday morning.

A Hillsborough man was taken to the hospital after he crashed into a cement slab and then into a fence in Red Bank Saturday morning, police said.

James Mayer, 53, needed to be removed by emergency workers from his 2009 Honda Accord after the car veered off Prospect Avenue in Red Bank.

The driver was traveling eastbound on Harding Road and missed the turn and struck a cement slab, according to Red Bank Police Sgt. Robert Gannon. The driver attempted to back out and continue down Prospect and "lost control" and crashed into a fence that separates the yard of a Fair Haven home from the road, Gannon said.
