Hillsborough Man Claims Defective Machinery Led to Injury at Somerset YMCA

Daniel Cuoco alleges the 2011 incident left him permanently scarred.

A Hillsborough man has filed a suit against the Somerset Valley YMCA following a 2011 weight-lifting accident in which he alleges defective machinery caused a weight bar to crash into his face.

Daniel Cuoco claims in a lawsuit filed Sept. 24 that the non-profit organization should have known the equipment was not functioning properly and “posed a foreseeable danger to visitors, patrons and members of the YMCA,” as reported by NJ.com.

The Sept. 27, 2011 incident left Cuoco with a permanent scar on his nose, the suit alleges, when a weight bar became unsecured and hit his face. The suit also lists the manufacturer of the equipment as a defendant.
