High Winds Down Power Line on 206, Pole on Beekman Lane [VIDEO]

The power lines have been fixed, but PSE&G is still working on fixing the utility pole.

High winds forced Hillsborough Township Police to close Route 206 South between Valley Road and Dukes Parkway West and Beekman Lane between New Center Road and River Road Friday.

Route 206 South has been reopened, after PSE&G repaired a downed power line. The repair closed the road for about 30 minutes, according to Hillsborough Office of Emergency Management Coordinator John Sheridan.

"There was only one wire down, but anytime you close 206, it's a nightmare," Sheridan said.

PSE&G went from the Route 206 incident to the utility pole on Beekman Lane, Sheridan added. The pole there was damaged during a motor vehicle accident, contributing to it coming down Friday.

No wires were dislodged during the incident. The road will remain closed until the pole is repaired.
