Fire Companies Welcomes New Academy Graduates

Six complete training at Somerset County Fire Academy.

Six local volunteers have completed training at Somerset County Emergency Training Academy and are ready to step up their service.

Flagtown Volunteer Fire Co.'s Nancy Gulla, Dave Becker, Thomas Slinsky, Scott Weiss and Joey Spence, and John Klena, with Woods Road Volunteer Fire Co., marked their completion of the Firefighter I training at the academy's graduation Thursday.  

The semi-annual graduation ceremony also recognized volunteers finishing additional training, and Hillsborough fire companies added six members with the Firefighter II certification: Nick Jandoli, of Flagtown Volunteer Fire Co., Fire Co. no. 2's Lena Demchenko, and Bradford Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Walter Johnson and Thomas Marvits, all with Woods Road Volunteer Fire Co.

Alan Querec, supervisor of the Somerset County Emergency Training Academy, presented the graduates their certificates.
