Multiple Agencies Battle High Acre Drive House Fire

Smoke continued to billow out from the rear of a High Acre Drive residence Thursday, even as numerous crews of firefighters worked to trace the source.

The fire was reported at about 8:15 p.m., with calls for backup following shortly after. Crews from all Hillsborough fire companies, Millstone Valley, Manville and Franklin, as well as rescue squads from Hillsborough, Manville and Somerville, responded to the scene.

Worried neighbors watched the emergency responders and crews entering and exiting the house, home to a couple in their 70s, one neighbor said, who added the house had also had a fire in the basement several years ago.
