Console and Seats Stolen from Business' Van, Police Say

Amwell Road business and residents report vehicle break-ins and damage.

Hillsborough police received five reports of vehicles damaged or broken into between Sept. 20 and Oct. 31, including an Amwell Road business that reported thieves disassembled a van that had been broken into sometime in September.

On Sept. 20, the business reported to police discovering the two front seats and dashboard console had been stolen from the vehicle sometime in the three weeks prior.

The estimated cost to replace and repair the vehicle was $5,642.

Other reports of vehicles broken into or damaged include:

A Stagecoach Way resident's report of a cell phone, valued at $400, stolen from a vehicle parked in the residence's driveway during the night of Oct. 9;

A report on Oct. 14 of damage to a vehicle belonging to a Wesley Road resident caused by an unknown green liquid that was thrown on it, causing an estimated $1,000 in damage;

On Oct. 23, a Camplain Road resident reported someone had broken a window of their residence and caused damage to a vehicle. The cost to repair the damage was estimated at $200.

On Oct. 31, someone caused an estimated $5,000 in damage to vehicle parked at a Camplain Road residence, by breaking a window, puncturing tires and scratching the hood with a sharp object, possibly a key.
