Mildred Ruth Schmidt, 82, Was Lifetime Member of Somerset County 4-H

Visitation Friday, with a graveside service Saturday at Neshanic Cemetery.

Mildred Ruth Schmidt, 82, died Jan. 7 at her home.

She was born and raised in Wichita, Kan., and settled in Hillsborough in 1975.

She was a homemaker. Ruth was a lifetime member of the Somerset County 4-H Association (30 years) and had received the outstanding service award. She was a member of the Flutterwheel Square Dancing Club.

Ruth loved to bowl, and for the past 35 years bowled four times each week in various leagues.

She was predeceased by her husband Harry and her son Keith.

Surviving are her children, Annette Smutko of Bridgewater, Harold Schmidt, of Hillsborough, and Raymond, of Fanwood; her sister Joann Abel, of Wichita,  and her three grandchildren, Kevin, Mellissa and Laura.

Visiting will be Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in the Hillsborough Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Neshanic Cemetery, Hillsborough.

The family welcomes flowers or donations to the Somerset County 4-H Association.
