Hillsborough Democrats participate in Memorial Day events

HDA President Jim Bergstrom and Township Committee  candidate Thuy Anh Le had the honor  of placing a memorial wreath at the Hillsborough Memorial Garden on  behalf of the Hillsborough Democrats last week at the annual Memorial Day event.  It took place under cloudy skies in which the sun broke through just as the flag was raised at the end of the. ceremony  “It was moving and so meaningful to be alongside other community volunteers like the Hillsborough Police, Fire Companies, Rescue Squad, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts”, said Ms. Le.  Mr. Bergstrom, whose father, father-in-law,  and three uncles were World War II  veterans, said he is moved by this ceremony every year.  Several HDA members were in attendance. Many thanks to those who showed to pay their respects and participate in the patriotism of  the day. 

The HDA will meet next on June 4, a day after the Democratic Primary.  The meeting will begin at 6:45 PM at the Avalon Assisted Living at  393  Amwell Road.  On the agenda will be the awarding of the HDA HHS Scholarship for 2014. 

Spring is a busy time for the HDA.   Prospective members and other Democrats and progressives are invited to attend the meeting and hear all about what's going on with the Democrats in Hillsborough!
