Jr. Raider Cheerleaders Shine at LVCCA Cheerfest

On Oct. 21, the Hillsborough Jr. Raider competition cheer squads competed in the Long Valley Competition Cheerleading Association's 4th Annual Cheerfest at West Morris Central High School.

On October 21, 2012 the Hillsborough Jr. Raider competition cheer squads competed in the Long Valley Competition Cheerleading Association’s 4th Annual Cheerfest at West Morris Central High School.  Four Jr. Raider squads competed: Junior Biddy (3rd & 4th Grades), Junior Varsity (5th & 6th Grades), Varsity (7th Grade), and Senior Varsity (8th Grade).  Each squad competed against teams from Mount Olive, Sparta, Twin Boro, Long Valley, and others. 

The competition proved to be a huge success for the Jr. Raiders thanks to the dedicated coaches and hardworking cheerleaders on each squad.  It was a Hillsborough sweep in each division with the following achievements being earned:

Jr. Biddy – Division Grand Champion and Best Dance of Session

Sr. Varsity – Division Grand Champion and Best Cheer of Session

Of the Cheerfest, Mary Riccardi, Director of the Jr. Raider Competition Cheerleading program, stated, “We enjoyed spirited and clean performances by all four squads.  After all their hard work, the cheerleaders earned this early season honor.”
