Ron Howard, Canon Pick Hillsborough Resident's Photo

Photographer's work selected as one of 91 images in 'Project Imaginat10n'

An image by Danielle Austen, a professional photographer from Hillsborough, was selected as one of 91 winners in Canon's "Project Imaginat10n" contest.

The company is working with director Ron Howard and five celebrities who will direct short films based on 10 of the photos. The celebrities are Eva Longoria, Jamie Foxx , Biz Stone, Georgina Chapman and James Murphy, according to information on the company's website.

Austen's image, “Dry Dock,” photographed in Seward, Alaska, was one of 10 photos selected in the "backstory" category. The other nine categories are setting, time, character, mood, relationship, goal, obstacle, the unknown, and discovery.

The celebrity directors are now reviewing the photos and will select one from each of nine categories, in addition to Howard’s pick for "discovery," taken by Jennifer Harris of New Orleans. Austen's image could be picked for "backstory."

According to Canon, the “10” in “Imaginat10n,” represents 10 storytelling elements and the 10 films that will ultimately be produced, five of which will be directed the five directors mentioned above at a special Canon “Project Imaginat10n” film festival in 2013. Another five film directors will be announced at a later date.
