Long Weekends Should Only Be Partly Lazy

How are you spending President's Day weekend, Hillsborough?

 It's the weekend!  But it's a long one, so what are you going to do during it?  Good thing there's enough going on in and around Hillsborough to keep people busy!

  1. You Need to Know How to Save Energy: BoroGreen, Montgomery Green, Sustainable Hillsborough and Sustainable Montgomery are hosting a Home Energy Workshop from 2-4 p.m. at the library.  The workshop is free, but registration is required.  Call the library at 908-369-2200, extension 12, to see if slots are still available.
  2. You Need to Know Warmer Temps Haven’t Canceled Winter Sports: The Hillsborough High School Hockey Team will take on Madison tonight at Protech Hockey Ponds in Somerset.  The tied with Ridge during their last game, so we will see if the boys want to make up for it during this game.  The game begins at 7:30.
  3. You Need to Know Where to Watch the Birds: Duke Farms will hold its 19th Annual Backyard Bird Hunt this weekend, at its Route 206 site.  Throughout the weekend, trails on the property—which is Doris Duke’s estate—will be open for bird lovers to tally and record bird species.  Staff members will lead the recording expeditions.  Trails open at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday
  4. You Need to Know to Join Us: at the Villagers’ Theater’s production of Stephen Schwartz’s “Pippin.”  The show runs through Feb. 20, with Friday and Saturday performances beginning at 8 p.m.  Sunday performances are at 2pm.  Due to mature subject mature, the recommended viewing age is sixteen years and older. Reservations can be made via the theater website or contact 732-873-2710.
  5. You Need to Know How Sweet It Is: at the Environmental Education Center at Lord Stirling Park in Basking Ridge.  It’s holding maple sugaring demonstrations at 10 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays, at the center’s sugar shack.  Sessions begin at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.
