How Do You Celebrate Washington's and Lincoln's Birthdays?

Even though Lincoln's was earlier in February, today's the day we honor the country's leaders.

It’s a federal holiday, but what’s that mean to Hillsborough?  For some residents, it’s a long weekend, but others will be found at their regular jobs.

  1. You Need to Know: Today is Presidents’ Day, so government offices, the post office and most banks are closed.  TD Bank branches, however, will be open.
  2. You Need to Know School is in Session Today: While the kids would normally have today off, they are in school to make up for days canceled by January’s snows.
  3. You Need to Know You Can Meet The Superintendent Today: The Community Partnership Network is hosting a meet and greet with Jorden Schiff, Hillsborough’s new superintendent, at 7 p.m. tonight at Auten Road Intermediate School.  In addition to meeting Schiff, residents can offer input on the district’s direction and on district operations.  Everyone is invited to attend, whether they have students in the school system or not.
  4. You Need to Know the Library Is Also Closed: The Hillsborough Township library will be closed in observance of George Washington’s Birthday.
  5. You Need to Know Our Congressman is Coming to Town: Congressman Leonard Lance’s town hall meeting was originally scheduled for Feb. 2, but bad weather postponed it.  It will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
