Head to the Library for Job Hunting Help

NJ Works at Your Library will introduce patrons to job-hunting services available in town.

Job hunting? Instead of the normal spot at the desk, at a temp agency or on the couch, bring your skills to the from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

That’s when the library will host New Jersey Works at Your Library, an introduction to the job-search services available through the library. Those services include classes on computer basics, business databases, programs on job searches for workers who are over 40, and one-on-one resume help.

In addition to the library’s services, community partners from local government, civic and non-profit groups will be at the event, to help job seekers find necessary resources during unemployment.

Here’s what you need to know today:

  1. You Need to Know Where to Volunteer: Sign up for the library’s teen volunteer program begins today. Applications are available at the Teen Center.
  2. You Need to Know About Shopping: Suey’s Scents, on Main Street in Three Bridges, has a month-long that begins today. The theme is bridal, so if you know there’s an invite coming, head out.
  3. You Need to Know About Kid’s Classes: Those interested in religious classes at the can . It’s $30 for a year of classes.
  4. You Need to Know About Meetings: The Planning Board meets to continue the site plan hearing on the proposed Green Village complex, a
  5. You Need to Know About Dinners:  hosts its  at 4:30 p.m. Friday at its Woods Road firehouse. It’s $11 for a dinner buffet that includes baked tilapia, fried cod, fried clams, fried shrimp, chicken fingers, pierogies, French fries, rice, veggies and more. Tickets are available at the door and cost $11.
