Duke Farms Activities Cater to Outdoors, Families

Duke Farms opens its doors for outdoor activities.

If the awards for sustainability and community outreach weren't enough, Duke Farms has been offering more to do since the weather's turned warm.

The organization, which is housed in the Doris Duke estate offers programs about nature, enjoying the environment and more. Whether it's walks through the estate or or even a workshop, the foundation has new activities almost every weekend.

  1. You Need to Know About Insects of the Night: hosts a program on . The program costs $8 and advance registration is required.  Call 908-722-3700 to register.
  2. You Need to Know You Can Walk During the Daylight Too: continues its . The program takes families through 1 .25 mile trail featuring a variety of habitats and wildlife. The tours are free, but those interested should call 908-722-3700 to check trail availability. Trails are open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  3. You Need to Know They’re Unstoppable: at the . The library’s program shows “Unstoppable” for free tonight at 7 p.m.
  4. You Need to Know About Modern Sleeping Beauties: McCarter Theater in Princeton presents ”, a modern take on the classic Sleeping Beauty fairy tale. Friday evening performances start at 8 p.m., while the show runs at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range from $20 to $75 and can be purchased online at www.mccarter.org or by calling 609-258-2787.
