Friends of Open Space Set Sept. 19 Forum

Written by Susan Gulliford

Friends of Hillsborough Open Space (FOHOS) invites members of the public interested in open space and the November ballot question on the diversion of open space acquisition money to a forum and meeting on Sept. 19.

Presentations regarding the importance of aggressively continuing the preservation of Hillsborough Open Space and why the diversion of open space acquisition money in the November ballot question should be opposed will be given. Speakers will include Clem Fiori, chairman of Montgomery Open Space and Mary Penney, president of Montgomery Friends of Open Space.

FOHOS is seeking new members and is looking for volunteers to help in opposing the initiative. We will be sharing ways in which interested members of the public can get the message out and help defeat this question.

FOHOS's mission is to build a community-wide volunteer group dedicated to assisting the township in supporting the preservation and stewardship of open space lands in order to maintain Hillsborough's semi-rural character.

FOHOS is a non-partisan group, welcoming members of any political party and
those who are unaffiliated.

For more information on FOHOS visit our Facebook
page.

The meeting will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. at The Antique Barn at Cashel Farm, 145 Wertsville Road in Hillsborough, almost directly opposite the entrance to the Hillsborough Country Club.

Come at 6:30 p.m. for light refreshments before the meeting. If you are planning on attending, an RSVP at fohosnj@gmail.com would be appreciated.
