Much of the possession time gave an edge to Pingry, but it was Hillsborough forward Danny Pankulics that scored the first goal of the game at the 37-minute mark. It wasn't until the 25th minute of the second half that Pingry posted the tying goal from midfielder Christian Fechter.
The teams played two overtimes with each having opportunities to win the game, but to no avail.

COACH'S TAKE
"It was important that our team stay confident and stick together. And they did that today. Pingry is a very dangerous side, a very good side. As a team, defensive is one of our strengths. We had a lot of shutouts this year. There is no question we played to our strengths. When you are playing a team like this, you counter, you take your opportunities on set pieces. There is no question we were on the back foot quite a bit, but we didn't break. So I am proud of them for that."—Hillsborough coach Eric Puma
