October is National Dinosaur Month

There's a time for everything, including dinosaurs.

Though the ancient—and enormous—beasts ruled thousands and thousands of years ago, October is the month modern humans focus on them.

Here's what you need to know today:

  1. You Need to Know to Get Vaccinated: The Hillsborough Township Health Department in the . The vaccine is free to those who present their Medicare cards, but there is a $20 charge for those who are not on Medicare.
  2. You Need to Know It’s for Moms: The Hillsborough MOMS Club West meets at 9:45 a.m. today. Since the location shifts each time, you’ll need to email their membership chair-mom at mchw.info@gmail.com if you’re interested in joining the club.
  3. You Need to Know About Dinosaurs: A Hillsborough Public Library Program lets children ages four to six celebrate National Dinosaur Month. You’ll need to register for the 10 a.m. program, which you can do online or by calling the Children’s Desk at 908-369-2200, extension 14.
  4. You Need to Know About Seeds: Duke Farms hosts a workshop at 10 a.m., covering growing plants from seeds. The focus is plants native to Somerset County, and how they create the local ecosystem. The workshop is $20, and you’ll want to reserve a spot by calling 908-722-3700 if spots are still available.
  5. You Need to Know About Social Media: The Jointure of Somerset County offers a $50 workshop on creating a social media plan for your business. The first session of it will be held at 7 p.m. at Hillsborough Middle School tonight. Topics covered include using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and blogs as well as looking at New Jersey businesses with successful social media campaigns. You’ll need to register for the course at www.jointure.org before attending, though.
