Memorial Mass for Jean Marie DeBerardine Set for Nov. 8

Jean Marie (Belfanti) DeBerardine, 84, died Oct. 16 at home surrounded by her loving family. 

Born in Mt. Carmel, Pa., daughter of the late Elmer A. and Anna (Dobson) Belfanti, she was raised in Mt. Carmel and resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., from 1957-1969 and Upper Saddle River, from 1969-1994 at which time she settled to Hillsborough.

Jean earned a B.S. in Nursing from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Bronx, NY. She worked as a registered nurse but was primarily a homemaker who took pride in raising and caring for her family. Jean was an avid reader.

Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas C. DeBerardine who passed away in 1983; sister, Rita M. Delcamp; and brothers, Robert Belfanti and Elmer Belfanti.

Jean leaves behind five loving children, Marie Dooley and her husband Mike of Fleming Island, Fla., Thomas DeBerardine and his wife Lisa of Bedminster, Ellen Schengrund and her husband Scott of Hillsborough, Anne Truglio and her husband Tom of Hillsborough, and Mark DeBerardine and his wife Amy of Jacksonville, Fla. She will be deeply missed by ten cherished grandchildren, Morgan Dooley, Michael Dooley, Thomas DeBerardine, Angela DeBerardine, Michael DeBerardine, Alexis Schengrund, Ken Schengrund, Zach DeBerardine, Dylan DeBerardine, and Kaylee DeBerardine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Avenue, Somerville, NJ 08876 on Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. The interment will be private. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s name to the Hillsborough Public Library, 379 South Branch Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844.
