Letter To The Editor: A Note From Democratic Candidates John Beggiato And Thuy Anh Le

This letter has been submitted to Patch by Thuy Anh Le and John Beggiato, Democratic Candidates for the Hillsborough Township Committee primary election on June 3rd. 

Dear Hillsborough Voter,

John Beggiato and Thuy Anh Le want to reaffirm that elected officials serve all the people of their town, not just a political party or a particular constituency. We believe that voters choose their representatives based on a faith that they will make informed decisions on their behalf.

Our long-term volunteer commitments prove our integrity, hard-working ethics, perseverance, and how much we care about our fellow residents and the wonderful town we live in. 

John Beggiato’s 27 years of experience as an Information Technology professional specializing in the financial services industry will benefit the Township Committee. He has strong leadership skills in managing cross-organizational teams and expertise in delivering cost improvements, efficiency, and productivity.

John always solicits and considers all opinions to ensure the best outcome or solution. He has done this effectively as a Board member at the Roycefield Swim Club and BoroGreen, and as one of the founding members of Friends of Hillsborough Open Space (FOHOS). 

Thuy Anh Le brings analytical and problem-solving skills with her experience in the pharmaceutical industry for 28 years. Working with international teams requires her to be a consensus builder and a patient moderator.

Her years of experience negotiating and facilitating thoughtful discussion has been applied to her experiences with Girl Scouts, numerous school-related volunteer work, and leadership roles on the Board of Education, BoroGreen, and Sustainable Hillsborough Steering Committee.

She is empathetic when listening about issues and is tenacious about tackling tough issues.Our platform includes a more open and participatory government, sensible budgets that limit tax increases, strengthening local businesses with a planning vision, and supporting a vigorous Open Space program. Before decisions are made, both will ensure that all voices are heard and issues are carefully weighed. We deeply believe in active citizenship and that’s why we are running for the Hillsborough Township Committee.

We have always worked for the benefit of our town residents and we are unafraid to speak up on issues; we always have and always will.We want to serve our community as respectful, creative, forward-thinking representatives.

Please join others to vote for us in the primary election on June 3rd between 6 AM and 8 PM. We have been buoyed by the responses when we made calls and knocked on doors all over town.
