Teen Pedestrian Struck on Route 206

15-year-old taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.

A 15-year-old Hillsborough teen was taken to Robert Wood Johnson for treatment of a head injury after being hit by a vehicle on Route 206 Friday afternoon.

Police said the accident occurred near the entrance of the Bottle King Liquor Store at about 4:30 p.m., when a Chrysler 300 driven by Leo Halepi, 31, of Cambridge, Mass., hit the teen in the southbound lane. Police said traffic was stop-and-go and the teen tried to run across the road against the traffic lights.

Hillsborough Rescue Squad treated the teen at the scene.

The Somerset Mobile Intensive Care Unit also responded to the accident.
