ReplyIt's all a frame of mind. Personally, I don't think there's much less to do here than when I was in high school 10 years ago (and it wasn't a lot then). However, we were resourceful and found things to do that kept us out of trouble. We were into music and we spent time outside. A lot of it was our parents too, of course; they wouldn't condone us getting into anything questionable, so we didn't.

Just stating the facts. There are no bike lanes in town (to my knowledge) and we have almost exclusively two-lane roads regulated for vehicular use. Not arrogant, just factual. The original intent of the roads doesn't reflect the present day

Right on. I think motorists do enough to keep things safe, but bicyclists have to remember that the roads are frankly meant for our vehicles and not theirs. I can't tell you how many times I've driven down Valley Brook Rd. and have seen bicyclists compromise the safety of everyone by not moving over

ReplyI just wanted to note that the above links got messed up somehow, in that they all link to my page. Relay for Life's webpage is http://www.relayforlife.org, while the American Cancer Society's page is http://www.cancer.org. Sorry for any confusion!

Sorry for the confusion, Deborah. In the article, I was making reference to the five sections of Woodbridge that have over 15,000 residents.

Also, West Morris provides plenty of opportunities to be involved in something. The kids just have to find something. They're a lot more capable of making decisions - both good and bad - than we sometimes realize.
