At the end of the year, it's become a journalistic tradition to recap the year's top stories, to recall the highlights and lowpoints of the months. We'll follow that tradition, and bring a few extra features for you, including favorite photos and the most-read stories. After three terms, Bob Wagner will cast final votes Tuesday.
Bob Wagner will take a seat on the dais in the Hillsborough municipal courtroom for a final time as a Township Committee Member Tuesday night, ending a nine-year stint on the governing body. Wagner's township career includes serving as mayor in 2005, and as deputy mayor in 2004 and 2009. He's made open space a personal priority, helping to shepherd a number of puchases in the the township. He 's leaving the committee at the end of this term, but there's a good chance you'll still see him around town: Wagner is a member of the Community Emergency Response Team and the fire police. With clerk's appointment and recognitions on tap.
When the Township Committee meets Tuesday, among the items on the agenda will be a three-year contract for Pamela Borek as township clerk. Borek has been serving as acting clerk since Sept. 1, and has been working in the administration office since March 2011. The committee also plans to make a presentation to Hearthstone at Hillsborough Association. We'll bring coverage of the committee's actions on these two matters, as well as other discussions that come up at the meeting.

Harding Corona LLC proposal will be discussed this week.
The Planning Board's continuing review of the proposed 34,115-square foot residential psychiatric treatment center will likely draw a crowd to Thursday's meeting, as residents near the proposed center try to mobilize opposition to the plan. The board last discussed the proposal in October—we'll bring coverage of this week's meeting, as well as an update of the Rescue Squad's plans to open a facility near Hamilton Road to service the eastern part of Hillsborough more quickly. The plan got a big boost last week, when the Township Committee moved to help the squad complete a purchase agreement for the land the facility would be build on.
