Sandy Clean-Up to Get Boost From Chainsaw Crews, Youth Corps
Township employees visit homes of seniors to check condition, provide information.
The township is calling in the reserves to clean up the mess left by Hurricane Sandy and to support the efforts of local employees who are conducting welfare checks of seniors citizens. Township Administrator Anthony Ferrera said Thursday the township was told 20 chainsaw crews dispatched by the Federal Emergency Management Agency would arrive to work on large tree removal. At the same time the township’s health and social service departments are visiting the homes of all seniors living on the sections of Hillsborough still without power.
