Veterans Honored by Hillsborough Students

Triangle and Woodfern schools have special guests while recognizing Veterans Day.

Veterans were honored by students and staff at Triangle and Woodfern elementary schools this week, commemorating Veterans Day. At Triangle Elementary School, students sang for veterans during an hour-long school-wide assembly. Afterward, veterans attended a reception in their honor. Many of them were friends and family of the students and staff, and the school extended its thanks and appreciation for their service and dedication. At Woodfern Elementary School, retired Hillsborough High School teacher Barbara-Jo Kruczek played on her bugle to start the school’s Veterans Day assembly. Teacher's Autism Documentary Playing in District

Film illustrating how township embraces disorder to be shown at Auten Road I.S. for free.

Triangle Elementary School special education teacher Tori Wargo will be presenting her documentary "Touched by Autism" to the Hillsborough Township community on May 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Auten Road Intermediate School. “Touched by Autism” is a documentary on how the Hillsborough community embraces autism through the eyes of its families, friends and educators. All aspects of the film were completed in town. Filming and editing were done in Hillsborough with the help of Hillsborough High School senior Tom Sireci. All indivuduals who appear in the documentary, from parents to teachers and autism specialists, have a connection to the township. Hillsborough Teacher Will Premiere Autism Documentary On April 19

A teacher from Hillsborough will show her documentary next week about autism as part of National Autism Awareness Month. Tori Wargo, a Special Education teacher at Triangle Elementary, will have a premiere of her documentary "Touched by Autism" at Tusk Restaurant on Thursday, April 19 at 7 p.m. Red carpet arrivals will begin at 6:30 p.m. After the screening, there will be a complimentary reception with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Wargo participates every April in National Autism Awareness Month, and this year she went extra lengths to put together an inspirational documentary. Triangle Elementary Supports Troops on Third Care Pack Day

School packs at least 450 bags for troops overseas.

Triangle Elementary School continued its tradition of creating care packs for troops overseas for the third year. Students filtered into the school gym throughout the day on Friday, packing baby wipes, deodorant, personal items, batteries, hand warmers, food and more into zip-top bags that will be sent overseas.

Triangle Elementary School Teacher Films Autism Documentary

Triangle teacher hopes to raise awareness through film.

 Production is underway on a new documentary titled “Touched by Autism”. The documentary is the brain child of Triangle Elementary School Special Education teacher, Tori Wargo. Wargo’s short film will be based around personal interviews and will explore how members of the Hillsborough community have been “touched” from a variety of different perspectives. The end goal for creating this film is to raise awareness and education on autism. It is Wargo’s hope that this documentary will help open discussions and education regarding autism throughout the district schools and beyond. Filming is set to begin immediately and conclude by the end of January.  Wargo is currently looking for members of the Hillsborough community who are open to …
