Route 206 southbound between New Amwell and Amwell roads was closed Sunday morning for emergency utility work due to the ongoing cleanup of a more than 2,300-gallon leak. According to a Nixle alert released by the Hillsborough Police Department, delays are expected in the area and detour signs are posted. Buckeye Pipe Line Co. released a statement Saturday, saying it has determined about 55 barrels of gasoline—2,310 gallons—leaked from the pipeline, a quantity much higher than initially reported. The leak was discovered last week and the ongoing repairs, lane closures and traffic congestion in the area has affected holiday business, merchants said. Patch will provide more updates when they are available.

Jessica Sweet, attorney for Harding Corona, said her client will meet with neighbors before the Dec. 6 meeting to answer their questions and listen to their input. The testimony on Thursday focused on the project’s engineering on the 8.9-acre site in the township’s Highway Service zone just to the south of Doctors Way …

Police say southbound stretch opened earlier than had been expected on Thursday.
After construction closed a section of Route 206 southbound in Hillsborough for hours on Thursday morning, causing major traffic delays, police said both lanes had been reopened. Hillsborough police, however, said to expect delays in the area to continue when the department sent an alert at 11:45 a.m. saying the lane was reopened. The replacement of a telephone pole on the road at the railroad bridge just north of Old Champlain Road was causing major delays in both directions during morning hours. The southbound lane between Old Camplain Road and Brown Avenue was closed, resulting in north and southbound traffic having to share the single southbound lane. Traffic at 10 a.m. was backed up for more than a mile in the northbound direction, …
