Montgomery Road between Davids Lane and Long Hill Road will be closed for several hours on Thursday due to utility repairs. The Hillsborough Police Department issued an alert through Nixle at 10:12 a.m. saying that the road would be shut down for several hours. Police are asking for residents to plan an alternate route on Thursday. The closure is in addition to the seven listed on the township's website. The list was updated last at 6:30 Thursday morning. The size of the road closure list has been slowly decreasing since Hurricane Sandy hit the area.

A total of about 27 roads have been closed by Somerset County throughout many townships, including Bernardsville, Bridgewater and Warren. These county-owned roads and bridges were all closed as of 3 p.m. Monday., according to information released by the county. The number of road closures in Hillsborough was reduced slightly on Monday, down by one from Sunday, according to information from the township. As of 4 p.m. on Monday, 10 road closures were listed, one fewer than the 11 listed at 11:40 a.m on Sunday. That is down from the 35 listed last Thursday morning. All downed lines should be considered live and residents should stay away from them. Closings as of 4 p.m. on Monday include:

The New Jersey Department of Transportation has issued a list of state and interstate highways that were impacted by the storm as of noon Tuesday. Among the road and lane closures were multiple incidents on Route 78 and 206. The following were listed by the DOT.

Crash occurred earlier in the day, but power crews have been unable to repair the wires.
River Road remained closed Monday night near the Branchburg Township border—where it is known as Opie Road—after an afternoon crash downed a utility pole and power lines. Though Neshanic Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Bill Iden was unable to comment on whether the crash injured anyone, he did say that the person got out of the vehicle unaided. The car, which Iden said was a minivan, hit the power pole and downed the lines at about 1:30 p.m. No power outages have been reported in the Hillsborough portion of the area. Neshanic Volunteer Fire Co. members and the Branchburg Police closed the road shortly after the incident and have been monitoring the situation since. Lakshmi Raman, 32, was seriously injured in the Dec. 14 crash.
A Hillsborough woman involved in a three-car crash on Amwell Road last week has died from her injuries, a spokesperson from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick said Tuesday. The spokesperson could not say when Lakshmi Raman, 32, passed away, however. She was transported to the hospital Dec. 14 after the crash that occurred at about 9:30 a.m. According to Hillsborough Police, David Parisi, 32, of Bridgewater, who was driving a white box-truck, rear-ended Raman's black Toyota Corolla while both were driving east on Amwell Road. The caused the Toyota to cross into the westbound lane of Amwell Road, where it collided with a silver Ford driven by Brittany Citron, of New York, police said. Citron sustained minor injuries in…

Police and Prosecutor's Office investigate crash scene.
Hillsborough Township Police and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office accident reconstruction team are investigating a three-car crash that occurred Tuesday morning on Amwell Road. The crash occurred around 9:30 a.m., outside of the Comcast Cable building near 257 Amwell Road, and forced police and Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. No. 3 to shut down the road between Willow and North Woods roads. The road was closed for a period of time as police investigated the scene. The Hillsborough Rescue Squad also responded to the scene, though no injuries or fatalities have been confirmed. Check back with Hillsborough Patch for additional updates.
